My pre-press guy says:
HP RIPs don't handle pdfs very well at all.
1 A3 size image has to convert a small pdf into a large jlt to print with.
And it has no 'caching' capabilities - if an image is re-used again and again, it will still use again and again.
we reckon 1 A3 side of print is 6 MB.
So, for example, if you're printing 5,000 records, then do the math - 5,000 x 6MB. This is GBs and GBs of ripping, processing and transferring - no fun at all
