XMPie issue

I'd really like to know how to get around it...

I use XMPie with Indesign.

First I create a PDF of each page, with all the variable stuff taken out; so it's only the static stuff that is in the PDF. This is linked to Indesign...

Then I place all the variable elements on the page, in the particular big job we are doing now this is simply just a photoshop image linked with 5 actions, linked to a name in the data; the name is written in the sky in the form of clouds. And on the second side of the document it is just a text field linked to the name in the data.

15 records is 1GB of data.

Whenever I try to create a PPML (yes we use PPML with our Indigo 3500 not VPS) more than 15 records, Indesign crashes and the file isn't created.

Anything less than 15 records, the file is created, and takes about 10 minutes to rip 10 records or so.

Any way around this besides creating about 100 files of 10 records per file?

Cheers
