What do you take into consideration for quoting wide format jobs? sq feet/meters, ink coverage, substrate, etc- and which factors do you sell with an economy of scale?

The reason for the question is because we are investigating software to quote wide format jobs- I want to know what you do to arrive at a price so I can assess its usefulness.
